Winter in USA: ‘Winter needs a hero’ by Nissan
Winter in USA: ‘Winter needs a hero’ by Nissan
The 2014 Nissan Rogue comes standard with a four-cylinder engine that some reviewers say offers adequate power and decent acceleration. However, others write that the 2014 Rogue could use a bit more power. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard, and receives criticism from reviewers, who say that while it performs better at faster speeds, it can be excessively noisy, and it transmits vibrations into the cabin. While critics aren’t fond of the CVT, many note that it helps the Rouge earn excellent fuel economy for the class.
Nissan says it expects the Rogue to get up to 26/33 mpg city/highway. When it comes to the Rogue’s handling, some reviewers say that you can get better driving dynamics with a competitor like the Ford Escape. However, they say the Rogue offers a more comfortable ride than rivals like the Chevrolet Equinox and Toyota RAV4. Test drivers like the Rouge’s strong brakes and say its steering is well-weighted, but numb.
The 2014 Nissan Rogue is the one of the few compact SUVs that seats up to seven when equipped with an available third-row seat.
The Nissan Rogue’s front seats get high marks from reviewers who say its zero-gravity technology reduces fatigue and maintains comfort. Still, critics say the optional third row is too small for most adults and children, and some write that buyers in need of a third row should consider a midsize SUV like the Nissan Pathfinder. Speed ad – Mistakes (Viral video)
Speed ad – Mistakes (video)
This campaign aims to reframe the way that people look at their speed when they’re driving. A person may be a good driver but they can’t deny that people do make mistakes – after all, to err is only human. And in life, mistakes are made often.
We usually get to learn from our mistakes; but not when driving – the road is an exception. Even the smallest of mistakes on the road can cost us our life, or someone else’s.
In a Safe System no one should pay for a mistake with their life. When we drive, we share the road with others so the speed a person chooses to travel at needs to leave room for any potential error – whether it is theirs or someone else’s. At speed, there is less opportunity for a driver to react to a mistake and recover, and this is the key message for this campaign.
Last year, 83 people were killed and 408 were seriously injured in speed-related crashes.
Most road users recognise the risks of driving at speed and support police enforcement of the speed limit. But these statistics show that drivers don’t always practice this when driving: speed is still a contributing factor in 20% of all fatal and serious injury crashes on New Zealand roads.
This campaign launched on 5 January 2014 and encourages the audience to be conscious of other road users and to choose a safer speed that factors in the chance for human error.
I saw a comment on YouTube’s post – “The number of drivers that will slow down after watching this video… ZERO” ?! It’s correct ?

Subaru Reveals All-New 2013 “WRX”
Subaru Reveals All-New 2013 “WRX”
Subaru automobiles, announced that the all-new Subaru WRX (US specifications) has made its world premiere at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The product concept for the all-new WRX is “Pure Power in Your Control”. Reigning in the intense power and superior environmental friendliness of the 2.0-liter Horizontally-Opposed direct injection turbo “DIT” engine with a body and chassis thoroughly stiffened, the new WRX has drivers rejoicing at the free reign they have over this high-powered machine. Also, along with the standard six-speed manual transmission, Sport Lineartronic has newly been adopted to the transmission. In addition to smooth shifting mode, the Sport Lineartronic comes with an eight-speed manual shift mode with sharp shifting response, allowing more drivers to enjoy a spirited drive.
Equipped with a Symmetrical AWD (All-Wheel drive) system built around Subaru’s Boxer engine, the WRX is the symbol of Subaru AWD sport performance. Ever since the first model hit the streets back in 1992, the WRX has gained worldwide support from sports car enthusiasts as a distinctive sports sedan combining impressive sport performance with the practicality of a four-door sedan.
Working to stiffen both body and suspension while optimizing suspension geometry has both quickened vehicle response to driver steering input and raised the limit performance for cornering. In addition, Multi-mode Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) and Active Torque Vectoring have been added for even more predictable, more enjoyable driving.
The WRX is equipped with a new high performance 2.0-liter Horizontally-Opposed direct injection turbo “DIT” engine for high power with environmental friendliness. The DIT engine has vastly improved performance over the existing 2.5-liter model. It produces a maximum 268 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 258 lb.-ft. of torque from 2,000 to 5,200 rpm while maintaining high environmental performance.
The new WRX employs more high tensile steel plating with strengthened joints with various structures. While helping to reduce weight, these changes also make for a stronger body with world-class safety performance in collisions from the front, rear or sides.
In addition to assertively using collision-absorbing structure for the hood and bulkhead,collision-absorbing material has been added in the engine compartment side for increased pedestrian protection.

Volvo FH wins trucks of the year
Volvo FH wins trucks of the year
A year, almost to the day, after its spectacular launch, the new Volvo FH was elected International Truck of the Year 2014 by leading commercial vehicle journalists, representing 25 magazines throughout Europe. The Truck of the Year award was received by Volvo Trucks’ President Claes Nilsson at a ceremony at the Comtrans exhibition in Moscow yesterday evening.
Summing up the jury vote, International Truck of the Year Chairman Gianenrico Griffini commented: “Volvo Trucks has delivered a completely new heavy-duty truck, which, with its innovative cab, hi-tech driveline components and advanced maintenance solutions, sets a new benchmark in the automotive industry.”
This is the third time the Volvo FH is elected International Truck of the Year. It also won the award in 1994 and 2000.
“We are honoured and happy. When we introduced the new FH in September 2012, we claimed that it was pushing the envelope of what a premium truck could offer. The International Truck of the Year award confirms that the Volvo FH lives up to this promise,” says Claes Nilsson, President of Volvo Trucks.
The all-new Volvo FH is a truck built with the driver in mind and the focus on improving the haulage firm’s profitability. It boasts important innovations in all crucial areas: fuel economy, ergonomics, handling, active and passive safety, and time-saving features.
The truck is available with a range of 13- and 16-litre Euro 6 engines. The I-See technology can save up to five per cent fuel. I-See uses electronically recorded information about the topography of the roads to automatically optimise gear shifting, speed and auxiliary braking.
The handling is superior thanks to an improved chassis and the option to choose individual front suspension. The driving position is better and offers greater flexibility. For instance, the steering wheel now has a neck tilt function, a world-first in the truck world. The driver has a better view of the road, not least owing to the increase in the usable window area in the cab and the innovative rear-view mirror design.
More upright A-pillars add one cubic metre of interior space. This gives 300 litres of on-board extra storage capacity and greater on-board comfort.
Volvo Trucks offers maximum uptime with the new FH. This promise is based on new technology for remotely monitoring component wear and overall vehicle condition.
