Why Fords Are a Good Used Bet

Why Fords Are a Good Used Bet

Buying a used car isn’t always a fun experience. There’s always the worry that what you’re buying won’t turn out great in a few months’ time, and some cars are well known for potentially being money pits once they’re a few years old. Not all cars are like that of course, and there are brands that hold the reputation for being a sound choice. Ford is one of them, and here’s why.

Solid Value

Generally, used Fords offer excellent value. They’re mid-range cars to begin with, so they’re never particularly expensive to buy new, and this translates to their cost when used. Taking a look through a site like Exchange and Mart, you can see that there’s a Ford for just about anyone at just about any budget. This wide appeal is of course part of the company’s success. If you need a little run-around, then the Fiesta is a great choice, and if you need a family cruiser, then the Mondeo is for you. Either can be bought either very cheaply, or at a good price just a year or two old. You’re never going to have to pay a huge amount to get just what you need when you’ve made the decision to get a Ford, and few choices are going to be bad ones.

Reliability Concerns

Reliability is one of the major concerns for anyone buying used, because of the potential for costly repairs, but Ford owners will be pleased to know that the manufacturer generally ranks quite well in most surveys. It lags slightly behind the Japanese automakers that are known for excellent reliability, but you can be confident that most Fords are going to be built to last, particularly the European models made in Germany. The network of dealerships is very strong, wherever you are, which means that it’s not going to be too difficult to get your car repaired by experts if you need it, and similarly, a wide availability of parts is a real bonus.

If you’re in the market for a used car, then Ford is a sound choice. Identify which model in the line-up is the best for your circumstances, and then find one in the right price range. With good maintenance you shouldn’t have many reliability issues at all, and even if you do, there’s plenty out there to help get you through.

The F-TYPE Coupe visual message is defined by three key ‘heart lines’, that visual message beginning with the formidable grille. It is from the twin ‘shark gill’ openings that sit either side of the grille that the essential first heart line – which mirrors the design of the F-TYPE Convertible – flows and begins to take shape. Running up through the headlamp, and accentuated by the LED ‘J blade’ signature running lamps, the line then arcs up over the front wheel arch before dropping elegantly as it runs through the door, washing out into the muscular rear haunch.

The second heart line begins at the rear edge of the door, swelling outwards and upwards to create a visually strong wheel arch, emphasizing the car’s rear-wheel drive layout, before dropping vertically through the tail lamp ...
