What Makes The Honda CR-V So Family Friendly?
The Honda CR-V was given a complete redesign in 2012, and because of this, there has been little change in the design of the CR-V in 2013. There are plenty of SUV’s on the market, and it is easy for some of them to be overlooked. That is why Honda has targeted the CR-V at families by packing it with family friendly features, such as extra storage capacity and high quality safety features, and all of this comes contained within a body that looks sleek and beautiful.
The compact crossover SUV is one of the most popular models of vehicle amongst those people with small families, and this is because they offer a large capacity for shopping and the all important child buggy! That is why Honda has increased the boot capacity by an impressive 147 litres on the 2012 model; add to that the ability to lower the rear seats and a tailgate that closes automatically at the press of a button.
Honda’s 2013 version of the CR-V is available with a 2.4 litre engine and comes in LX, EX and EX-L versions and they come with a choice of front or all-wheel drive, making it an ideal family friendly car.
Some of the features you can expect to find in the CR-V this year include keyless entry, cruise control, air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity and even a rear-view camera to aid parking in tight spaces.
The EX model offers alloy wheels, a sunroof amongst other items, and the EX-L comes with heated side mirrors, leather seats with lumbar support for the driver. There is also the choice of adding voice activated satellite navigation or a rear seat DVD entertainment system as an extra, although you cannot choose to have both of these features included.
One of the most important factors that people look for in a family car is safety, and with that in mind, Honda have made the CR-V one of the safest SUV’s on the market. In testing, the CR-V EX-L came first in the braking test with a stopping distance of 120 feet when braking from 60mph.
Safety features that come as standard include Honda’s Vehicle Stability Assist system which includes a number of different systems that help to make driving much safer. It is not just braking that the Honda scores highly in. In crash tests completed by the government the CR-V scored highly in both side and front impact protection.
Honda put a lot into the safety aspect of their cars, however, it is not just their cars that they are famous for. They are also famous for their well thought out advertisements such as their brand new advertising campaign, so take a look at Honda Hands.
Another family friendly aspect to the new CR-V is the design and layout of the interior, with Honda including a number of extra areas to store carry-on items, which is handy when you have children and their assorted toys, food and drinks to find a place for.
As you can see, there are plenty of design aspects that make the Honda CR-V one of the most family friendly cars on the market in 2013. With plenty of storage space, top quality safety features which not only comply with government safety standards, they exceed it.
