Top 4 Cars Statistically Most Likely to be Involved in Accidents
Ok, before we start we have to say that it is people, not cars, that cause accidents. The cars that we are featuring today are not the cause of accidents, they are the recent findings of a statistical study to find out the cars that have been involved in the most amount of accidents over recent years. It is also worth mentioning that the vast majority of these accidents were very minor with little to no damage done to the car. Most of the accidents reported in this study were reported to only sustain minor paintwork damage or require a minimum insurance payout.
So read on for the surprising cars that have been involved in the most accidents over recent years.
BMW X1
The beautiful BMW X1 is firmly placed on the list of cars most likely to be involved in an accident. With an accident report rate of almost 13% and an additional 5.3% of vehicles that never reported damage, this is a surprise addition to the list. It is also worth mentioning however that the BMW X1 model has won numerous awards with its cutting edge safety features. So whilst it has been involved in a high level of accidents it still features highly in the safest car categories.
BMW 4 Series
According to this recent study 11.5 percent of BMW 4 Series models have been reported to have been involved in an accident.
Reported accident damage by BMW 4 Series drivers has this popular model up close to the top of the list of cars that have suffered the most damage over the last few years. Most accidents from BMW 4 Series drivers only resulted in minimum insurance claims and a few minor personal injury claims with firms such as Kelly & Soto Law.
There was, in addition to these reported cases of insurance and personal injury claims, an additional 7% of accidents with this mode that were never reported or never claimed on with an insurance, personal injury or body shop firm.
Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
The sturdy and savage looking Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is another rather surprising addition to this list of cars most likely to be involved in an accident. Known for its sturdy and chunky, protective design it is a popular model for families looking for a safe and reliable car that transitions well from urban to rural terrain. However this Land Rover model has reported 11% of its Evoques have been involved in accidents, with an additional 5% of accidents apparently going unreported.
Jaguar XJ
For those lucky enough to be able to afford the gorgeous and luxurious Jaguar XJ, the surprising truth is that almost 16% of their models have been involved in accidents with an extra 7.5% of damage, from accidents, that has gone unreported.
As we said at the beginning, it is people, and not cars that cause accidents. So although these statistics are surprising the cars on this list have received numerous awards for family safety, safety functions and new cutting edge safety technology meaning they all offer comfort, safety and great overall driver experience.
