Tips for Buying a Used Car

Tips for Buying a Used Car

Buying a new car can be quite easy as they tend to come with the best warranty and the new owner basically has little to think about apart from the style, color, and amenities they desire from the vehicle. Buying a used car however comes with its challenges. Without personal knowledge of the previous owner, you do not know exactly what the car has been through in its life. Here however are some tips for purchasing a used car without the worry.

Do Your Research

One of the advantages to buying a used car is the ability to find out how the model fares against other comparable vehicles. Online reviews of the specific model can reveal any quirks that may have gone unnoticed during the manufacturing process. Doing the research into the individual model will allow you to understand exactly what the car is worth as well, so you can negotiate properly.

Never Buy Blind

Practically everything can be purchased through some form of online resource and cars are certainly no exception, but buying a car without even laying eyes on it is a recipe for disaster. Book a test drive before simply signing on the dotted line. It may seem as though this advice is not needed, but you would be surprised how many transactions take place in this manner.

No Impulse Buying

It is true that you will know the car is right for you quite quickly, but merely buying a car based on first impulse is impractical. Careful consideration as to your needs and every aspect of the vehicle needs to be scrutinized. Impulsive decisions have led many buyers to buy small cars when what they intended to purchase was something for their growing family.

A Trusted Mechanic

When you purchase a used vehicle, it is likely that the establishment the car is purchased from will have a mechanic check the vehicle out before the sticker price is ever applied. It is best to bring along your own mechanic to look at the vehicle before you purchase it. They will be able to give you an unbiased assessment of the vehicle as they will not be loyal to the dealership or individual seller.

Avoid Dealership Financing

Financing is available at many dealerships these days. It is a great option for those who have bad or limited credit, but it is often a trap. The dealerships offer high percentage financing options and your local bank, most of the time, can beat the deal. Unless the dealership offers 0% financing, stick with the banks.

Buying a car is exciting and the chance to get the car you want will lead you to many different places, but always remember these tips as well as keeping your emotions in check. Even if you are staring at your dream car, if the price is not right or something seems amiss, always have the good sense to walk away from the deal. Buying new is not always the best option. Many excellent used cars are out there waiting for new owners to take them home.

The F-TYPE Coupe visual message is defined by three key ‘heart lines’, that visual message beginning with the formidable grille. It is from the twin ‘shark gill’ openings that sit either side of the grille that the essential first heart line – which mirrors the design of the F-TYPE Convertible – flows and begins to take shape. Running up through the headlamp, and accentuated by the LED ‘J blade’ signature running lamps, the line then arcs up over the front wheel arch before dropping elegantly as it runs through the door, washing out into the muscular rear haunch.

The second heart line begins at the rear edge of the door, swelling outwards and upwards to create a visually strong wheel arch, emphasizing the car’s rear-wheel drive layout, before dropping vertically through the tail lamp ...
