The 2016 Ford Ka Prototype Revealed

Ford has produced some of the most iconic and affordable cars of our generation. Most drivers over the age of thirty will have owned one at some point in their lives. The Ka model is one of the smallest in the range, and most people thought it would disappear this year. However, car enthusiasts spotted the third-generation city car ahead of its European market debut.

The manufacturers were testing the vehicle and making final adjustments before the official unveiling. With that in mind, we wanted to publish all the information currently available relating to the 2016 edition. We’ll just have to wait a couple of months until we know more.

Specifications

While we haven’t seen the full specifications yet, the DVLA has released some details during the last few months. You can click here for more information about that organisation. The new Ka will likely come with an economical 1.5-litre diesel engine. It is expected to offer the same 75 bhp as the latest Fiesta models. Early indications show that Ford will also release a sports edition towards the end of 2016.

They are also developing aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines. They are perfect for those who aren’t concerned about their environmental impact. Readers will have to wait a few months to learn more about the specifications of this vehicle.

Appearance

As most people would expect, Ford has remained faithful to their original Ka design. Unlike the new Fiesta models, they seem uninterested in changing the size. The vehicle is both stylish and sophisticated which is why experts claim it will sell well all over the world.

With wide door frames and easy access, they’re ideal for those with disability issues. Indeed, many of them will become available under the UK’s Motability scheme. Click here for Ford Motability information if you are not familiar with the concept. Reviewers online say this vehicle shows all the telltale signs of becoming the top choice for the older generation.

Affordability

Official prices lists are not available at the moment. However, new second-generation Ka models are currently available for between £8,000 and £11,000. It’s likely the manufacturer will try to keep costs low to avoid increasing those asking prices. So, it should compare with some of the cheapest models on our roads today. It’s slightly cheaper than the Fiesta, and it doesn’t cost as much to maintain. Even so, the third-generation models could take the experts by surprise. We’ll keep our eyes peeled during the next couple of months and try to come back to you with more accurate financial information.

Whatever you might think about the new Ka models, you’re guaranteed to see a lot of them by this time next year. The manufacturer will unveil the car in July or August with a bit of luck, and so any uncertainties should disappear by then. People who want a reliable new vehicle without breaking the bank should bookmark this blog. We’ll keep you updated on all things Ford until the official release date. If you don’t have much cash to spend this year, remember there are plenty of older Ka models available on the used market.

The F-TYPE Coupe visual message is defined by three key ‘heart lines’, that visual message beginning with the formidable grille. It is from the twin ‘shark gill’ openings that sit either side of the grille that the essential first heart line – which mirrors the design of the F-TYPE Convertible – flows and begins to take shape. Running up through the headlamp, and accentuated by the LED ‘J blade’ signature running lamps, the line then arcs up over the front wheel arch before dropping elegantly as it runs through the door, washing out into the muscular rear haunch.

The second heart line begins at the rear edge of the door, swelling outwards and upwards to create a visually strong wheel arch, emphasizing the car’s rear-wheel drive layout, before dropping vertically through the tail lamp ...
