Ford Highlights New Ford GT Supercar at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show
Ford showcased its high-performance supercar during the Social Media Preview of the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. The new Ford GT features the innovative EcoBoost engine, light-weight carbon-fiber body, and an aerodynamic design.
“Every piece of this vehicle has performance, functionality, efficiency, and beauty attached to it,” said Garen Nicoghosian, senior designer at Ford.
The Ford GT features a 3.5L twin-turbocharged engine. The V6 EcoBoost has fewer cylinders, more efficiency and better fuel economy. “The GT is the most advanced car Ford has ever done from an aerodynamics standpoint,” said Jamal Hameedi, manager of global power train communications at Ford.
Additional features include 600 HP capabilities, an aerodynamic design modeled after an airplane fuselage and a carbon fiber body that adds modern dimensions to the car while maintaining the classic GT feel.
