The new Dodge Durango features a slew of new standard features for 2014, including a new standard eight-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters, hands-free communication with Bluetooth streaming audio, Uconnect 5.0 with 5-inch touchscreen and 7-inch customizable in-cluster display, signature Dodge brand LED racetrack taillamps and standard three-row, seven passenger seating, with a starting Canadian Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $39,995
The 2014 Dodge Durango, the ultimate “No Compromise SUV,” will start arriving in dealer showrooms at the end of the third quarter with a starting Canadian Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $39,995, including $2,500 in added value compared to the outgoing 2013 model.
Every 2014 Dodge Durango features a standard 8-speed automatic transmission, projector headlamps, projector fog lamps, floating split crosshair grille, signature LED racetrack taillights, bright chrome or body-colour accents, 18-inch or 20-inch aluminum wheels, hands-free communication, 5-inch or 8.4-inch touch screen, rotary shifter with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, 7-inch customizable in-cluster display, Keyless Enter ’n Go with push-button start, seven airbags, seven passenger seating and much more.
The new 2014 Dodge Durango competes in one the fastest growing segments in the Canadian auto industry, the full-size SUV segment, which is up over 50 per cent since 2009. No other 3-row vehicle in this segment can match the Durango’s long-list of standard features and utility, including best-in-class V8 power (up to 360 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque), best-in-class towing of up to 3,265 kilograms (7,200 pounds) and impressive fuel economy and driving range.
The 2014 Dodge Durango is available in five trim levels: SXT, Rallye, Limited, R/T and Citadel, all packaged to meet the needs of individual customers.
All 2014 Dodge Durango SXT, Rallye, Limited, and Citadel models feature the award-winning Pentastar 3.6-litre V6 engine with 290 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque as the standard engine. With a standard dual exhaust, the 3.6-litre delivers an impressive 295 hp on Rallye and Citadel models. The 3.6-litre is mated to a new class-exclusive standard eight-speed automatic transmission equipped with a class-exclusive rotary shifter and standard paddle shifters on the steering wheel and can tow up to 2,812 kg (6,200 lb.). The 3.6-litre V6 engine is also capable of delivering up to 8.3 L/100 km (34 mpg) highway and gives Durango a class-leading driving range of over 1,100 kilometres per tank
