Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R: ‘Sports Model of the Year 2014’!
French motor sport magazine Echappement has singled out the Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R as the winner of its much-coveted Sportive de l’Année (Sports Model of the Year) award for 2014.
With seven vehicles picking up the accolade to date, Renault is the carmaker which has won the highest number of ‘Sports Model of the Year’ trophies since Echappement introduced the award in 1982.
The Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R was named ‘Sports Model of the Year 2014’ by a panel of Echappement journalists, drivers and readers. The purpose of the award is to highlight the car with the best sporting credentials.

The Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R demonstrated its outstanding track abilities to the panel of motoring professionals and enthusiasts, together with its versatility in everyday driving situations.

The Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R is an ultra-limited edition model and just 250 cars will be produced. It features motorsport-inspired styling and equipment.
It has notched up a series of records and lapped Germany’s celebrated Nürburgring in May 2014 in a time of 7m 54s. Just a few days ago, the Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy-R – the sportiest Mégane ever produced – produced a lap at Suzuka, Japan, which rivalled that of the fastest GT models.
