One of the two surprising concepts introduced by Chevrolet at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, the Tru 140S stays “true” to the current compact hatchback market by relying on a front-wheel-drive layout. Painted a matte white, the Tru 140S Concept has a carbon-fiber foglight bezel, front lip and rear diffuser that add a sporty contrast. For the record, the 140S shares its platform with the Chevrolet Cruze and Volt.
As with the Code 130R, Chevy##Q##s other youth-oriented concept, the mechanical details regarding the Tru 140S are sparse. Here##Q##s what we know—its powertrain uses modern technologies such as start-stop and direct injection. Chevy, however, hinted that the Tru 140S might be powered by the 150-bhp turbocharged 1.4-liter Ecotec engine, and return a “true” 40 mpg.
Just amazing!
