Volkswagen Touran is ‘Most Sensible Car 2016’
New Touran is the “Auto der Vernunft 2016” (Most Sensible Car 2016). The compact MPV was selected by the readers and Internet users of the magazine SUPERillu and Guter Rat (Good advice), one of the leading consumer magazines in Germany. The prize was awarded today at Kunztschule events centre in Berlin.
The readers’ choice award “Auto der Vernunft” showcases models consumers see as performing best when it comes to economy, environmental compatibility and safety. This year, the Touran was honoured in the category “Estate/MPV”.
The Touran won over readers’ hearts thanks to its good driving performance combined with low fuel consumption and impressive travelling comfort. The popular family MPV also excelled with a wide range of assistance systems including Emergency Assist (semi-autonomous steering in a medical emergency) and Trailer Assist (automatic steering when manoeuvring with a trailer). Smart phone content can also be displayed on the navigation system screen using Media Control.
The Readers’ Choice vote for the “Auto der Vernunft” by SUPERillu, the most widely read consumer magazine in the eastern part of Germany, and Guter Rat took place for the 16th time. In recent years, numerous Volkswagen models have also been amongst the winners including the Passat and Golf Sportsvan (2015) Golf (2013), Jetta (2012), Polo (2010), Golf Variant (2008), Touran (2004) and the new Beetle Cabriolet (2003).
