Triple win for Audi in “Best Cars 2016”
The readers of the magazine “auto motor und sport” have voted Audi to three first places in the “Best Cars 2016” poll. The Audi A1 was crowned the best small car, the Audi A4 emerged winner of the “Midsize” category and the Audi Q7 was the most impressive model among the “Large SUVs”.
Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, commented: “We are delighted with the triple win in the ‘Best Cars‘ poll. The coveted awards reflect our strong product portfolio and give our team plenty of encouragement for 2016.” Dr. Stefan Knirsch, Board Member for Technical Development added:
“With the new Audi A4 and the new Audi Q7, we have taken an extensive array of state-of-the-art assistance systems into production. We will build on our model initiative this year with innovative technical solutions.”
The awards ceremony took place today in Stuttgart. Sales Director Dr. Dietmar Voggenreiter collected the award for the A1: “The Audi A1 proves there is genuinely scope for premium automobiles with a city format to succeed. With its sportiness and outstanding Audi quality, it is an important brand ambassador of the four rings.”
The “Best Cars” reader poll run by “auto motor und sport” celebrated its 40th anniversary this year. There were 364 models in eleven categories to choose from in the 2016 poll. In each category readers selected an overall winner and a top import. A total of 115,239 readers took part in the poll.
