Opel ECO-Speedster, the “car-record”
The Opel ECO-Speedster has exceeded 17 international records and performs one of its objectives: exceed 250 km / h and consume only 2.5 liters.
The Opel Test Center in Dudenhofen has been the place chosen by the heads of the German mark to test the Opel Eco-Speedster. And the tests have not been able to salirle better model of Opel, who has managed to beat 17 international records.
The Opel Speedster, with its 112 horsepower turbo diesel engine and 1.3 liters of Cubic, was shooting for 24 hours and succeeded in prominent landmarks such as the maximum speed on a prototype diesel between 1100 and 1499 cc. It was 256.269 km / h. Another record was the consumption, with just 2.54 liters per 100 kilometers. So until 17 (distances quarter of a mile up the 1,000 miles, plus space for six, 12 and 24 hours)
The executive director of Engineering at Opel, Hans H. Demant, was very satisfied with the experience: “We have successfully demonstrated our ability to produce prototypes using the formula 250 km / hx 2.5 liters of consumption.”
In the history of World Records prototyping Turbo, the ECO-Opel Speedster has overtaken Volkswagen models like the Supacat, the Opel Corsa D Turbo Diesel or the Volkswagen Golf LD.
